Sticklers® CleanStixx™ - 1.25mm Connector Cleaning Stick, for Cleaning LC, MU and Similar

The Sticklers® CleanStixx™ Connector cleaning sticks are reliable, inexpensive tools engineered for critical cleaning of end face connectors located in mating sleeves or the contact areas of recepticles used in high-speed fiber optic networks. The various diameter cleaning sticks are color-coded for easy size selection and perfect cleaning performance on any size interconnect. Sticklers CleanStixx™ connector cleaning sticks get any fiber network running faster and more reliable than any other cleaning technology on the market today.

Using patented, sintered polymer technology the cleaning tip is engineered to a precise size so it spins off-center during cleaning. This improves cleaning results on even the smallest end-faces (blue arrow). In addition, the tip flexes and fibers in the tip spread during cleaning to gently conform to any end face geometry and grab particulate while absorbing oils and fluids. Sticklers® CleanStixx™ connector cleaning sticks are engineered to perfectly clean the entire end-face and alignment sleeve, not just the contact area.

Fiber Optic Cleaning

Improper cleaning is the top cause for network failures. The tolerance to dirt or contamination on the ends of the ferrules of a connector is near zero. Network operators claim that 15-50% of all network problems can be traced to dirty connectors causing connection problems.

Mitigate the risk of fiber optic contamination with fiber optic cleaners, fiber cleaning pens, and cleaning wipes. These handy fiber cleaners can remove contaminants like: dust, dirt, oils, film residue, and solvent coating.

Airborne dirt particles are about the size of the core of SM fiber and are usually silica based - they may scratch PC connectors if not removed! Patch panels have mating adapters that can become contaminated if left open to the air or scrape off foreign particles under repeated usage. We recommend you always keep dust caps on connectors, bulkhead splices, patch panels or anything else that is going to have a connection made with it.
